What a difference 6 weeks makes...

It's amazing how fast they grow...she was tiny for such a short time. I tried so hard to enjoy the time she was a tiny newborn, but that time has slipped away from me again!

First real smiles are the greatest!

Happy Thanksgiving!

A Normal Morning Around Here...

I can't believe this is my third post today...I haven't had much to say lately.

This is typically what I find in the morning and after naps. Devin likes to jump in bed with Logan and play. He's about to jump out in this picture because he thinks I am going to tell him to get out. Devin does get in trouble often for jumping in to play at the beginning of Logan's naps or at bedtime. It's really cute and funny. They laugh a lot and have a great time.

A Winter Wonderland!

I don't like winter, but if we must have it...let there be snow! I think it's really beautiful!

I highly recommend this snow ball maker! It worked great! It makes the most perfect snowballs and Devin loved it.

18 month check-up

Weight: 26 lbs 2 oz (60%)
Height: 30.25 inches (10%)

Logan's check-up was very uneventful, which is great! He just needed a flu shot and he doesn't need any tests or other vaccinations until he is two. Hopefully we won't see his pediatrician again until then, but winter is coming and I can only pray Logan stays healthy.

My First Ride All By Myself!

Logan LOVED riding a few rides all by himself today! He rode them all several times. We have been trying to get out as much as possible lately before the really cold weather starts. It is definitely a challenge to get all three out the door, but when we do, it is not as bad as I thought it would be. I have taken them all out by myself a few times, but I usually have help from my Mom. Without her, we would be stranded at home most of the time. Today would not have been possible without her! Thanks Mom!

18 Months!

Happy 18 months Logan!!
Time is just going way to fast! I am trying very hard these days to cherish every moment. Logan is at a great age and is becoming quite the funny boy. He loves to giggle and do things to get my attention. (my favorite thing right now is how he has just started crawling into my lap to makes me melt, there's nothing better.) It's becoming more clear what he likes and dislikes...I love getting to know him better and discovering more of his adorable personality!

Check out Mr. October in the New Hope Center 2009 Calendar. New Hope Center provides services to individuals with disabilities and provides our county's Birth to Three program. The calendar is celebrating Individuals with Abilities! I would love to list all of the things Logan is doing, but they are getting much to numerous these days!!

Feeding Milestone!

At lunch today, Logan decided he was finally going to feed himself! Up until now, when I put food on his tray, he would just throw it all on the floor. He could hold a french fry or cheeto and bite the end off, but he wasn't self-feeding anything else. This milestone is FANTASTIC for Logan, but even more for me, because he can feed himself when I get busy with Devin and Aubrey. I always felt bad when he had to sit there and wait for me. I knew he could do it...Logan just always needs to want to do it. YEAH LOGAN!!!! I think I am more excited about this than the standing!!
Check him out in action. He's eating bananas, which can be slippery, and he still could do it! After the bananas he fed himself some little bunny crackers too! He's not 100% yet, but he's about 1 for every 3 or 4 attempts!

A first step attempt!!!

Logan is a standing machine!! He just keeps practicing, and tonight he attempted to step when he was standing in the middle of the room! I am a little scared, because he took some hard falls. He has a really hard time stabilizing his upper body. When he steps, his upper body bends where ever his weight shifts and he has no control. When I hold him at the waist, I can feel that he just has no muscle tone in his core muscles. He wants to walk SO bad and he gets so excited each time he gets up to try! It makes me emotional when I see him struggling. He could take off if he just had the strength...I wish I could some how give him the strength he needs. He deserves to walk for all the effort and work he has done.

Hips OK

Aubrey had another ultrasound of her hips today and all appears to be ok. The doctor still needs to do some measuring, but he said they looked good, especially the right one that originally was worse than the left. So, this is great news! We were told this could happen, I guess the hormones that were in her body when she was born may have caused her hips to be loose.

Logan is standing longer!

Logan giggles when he gets to standing! It's SO cute, but you may not hear him because you will hear Aubrey instead. I feel bad for Logan's poor bottom...but he is so persistent. It's paying off, he gets better every day. He literally has a bruise on his bottom from standing and falling over and over, but he still loves doing it.

The last few days in pictures...

70s in November! I never thought we would still be enjoying the outdoors at this time of the year! Logan still LOVES his swing. I think I should have my Dad move it inside for the winter.

It is really a hard thing to take pictures of all three kiddos together! Here, Logan did not want to participate. Now that he is more mobile, we are starting to see that he does have a mind of his own. He also is starting to arch his back and resist things he doesn't want to do. I remember Devin doing that at 1...things could get real interesting around here really fast.

Devin is such a lover! He always loved kissing Logan, now he is sharing his love with Aubrey. I don't think she knows what to think about it! (hence the face) She will just have to get used to it.

She is changing come the chubby cheeks!

It's Different...

I knew that it was going to be a little different having a typical baby after getting used to Logan over the last year and a half. I first noticed how strong Aubrey is. I didn't think Logan wasn't strong when he was a newborn, but I was told his muscle tone was pretty good. It did take him a long time to gain good control of his head. I am just realizing now how low his muscle tone really was, and is. I am sure his doctors didn't want to discourage us at first.
Logan's milestones came very slowly at first. There were times when I thought he would never progress. I know that Aubrey will move right along with her milestones and I won't feel as much pressure to help her. With Logan, each milestone has taken much more practice and effort on his part. It doesn't seem fair. He has worked so hard when typical babies just gain skills with what seems like no effort at all.
I have a fear that Aubrey will just blow by Logan in no time. Instead, my hope is that Aubrey will push Logan to develop his skills, but I don't want her to leave him behind. I know I also have to face the reality.
One more thing, I feared that it would be hard to give each child the attention they deserve. Devin and Aubrey are always grabbing my attention, but Logan has so much patience and will wait for me to come to him. I want him to speak up! It's hard to remember to give him as much attention. I feel horrible about this, but I am going to make a point to give him all of the time I can. I can't wait until he can tell me exactly what he wants or is thinking.

Not her first...I guess you miss those when it's your third child. I'm doing pretty good with keeping up with pictures of just Aubrey and her firsts, but it is definitely more challenging than it was with Devin and Logan.

Check out how she is filling out...I am wondering if she will take after her michelin men.
