I have had a few requests from friends and family who were curious to see Logan's chromosomes. So, here they are. (it is neat to see someone's real chromosomes) Logan has the standard, non-inherited type of Down syndrome where he got an extra 21st chromosome from my egg or Dale's sperm. Basically, one of us gave 24 chromosomes instead of 23 each to make 46. As a result, Logan has 47 chromosomes. It was a random event that happens in about 1 in about 800 births. Over the past year, I was not always comfortable talking about the extra chromosome. But now, I'm so proud of him and the fact that he has Down syndrome.

I think Logan is such a cutie. I recetly had a baby with DS and she looks so much like logan. I would not have been able to get thru these few months if it wasn't for your blog and others that I read. Gives me hope.
Yay for the comment above!!! Love the shirt on Logan!! So cute. I guess I never got a picture of Ella's chromosomes ; ( Just a standard lab report that says something about consistent with non-disjunction trisomy 21. Oh well!
Okay - I LOVE LOVE what Logan is wearing! Your new site colours are great too! I never got a picture of Eric's chromosomes either :( He has typical T21.

Dear Baeten Family:
For future info, you may wish to know that there is full ABR hearing testing available via new technology that does NOT require any sedation or general anesthesia. Check out: www.vivosonic.com
This is a boon to famililes that wish to avoid the risks associated with drug-induced sedation and G/A.
I would welcome any inquiries you might have. My blogspot is: non-sedatedABR.blogspot

i love that you have the courage to show your baby and not care my sister is 16 years old and has DS i'm three years younger than her but she is my little sister.i can't beleive that many families hide them because they have DS but they are also kids that have a knidness none of us have so i thank you for not being like some people i know and being proud of your baby cuz i'm proud of mine!!!
You are indeed a lucky mom. My stepson and his wife had a little baby Sidney, who was Trisomy 13. He only was with us for 13 days. He would have been 8 this August. I hope you continue to be thankful for every day you have your little bundle of sunshine. Thank you for sharing your family with all of us who view your blog.
I love those chromosomes! Logan, you have the longest eye lashes! You are just a cutie-pie!
Hey- those chromosomes look familiar!
I so almost got Chase that same shirt :)
