Park Playdate

The clouds, record low temps and rain didn't stop us from having a great DSFN park playdate this morning. We actually had an awesome turnout despite the gloomy weather! I also remembered to pack my camera!! So, I got some great pictures of all the kids that showed up. Seven families came to the park to play!

I met Erin for the first time in Boston at the NDSC Convention, but she lives just a half hour away in Green Bay.

Party with some DSFN friends

Over the weekend we attended an "End of Treatment" party for the older sister of a friend of Logan's. It was the best kind of party to go to! What's better than celebrating beating cancer! Visit their blog to see some pictures and read about the amazing Karly!

It was great to see Karly and her friends and family as well as many families from the Down Syndrome Family Network.

Playdate

Yesterday, Devin, Logan and I had a play date with the Down Syndrome Family Network. Ruby was full of smiles for me! She is so adorable! We also finally got to meet new baby Aaron. He was so tiny and precious. I have already forgotten that Logan was that tiny only months ago. Aaron is doing really well. He is three weeks old now and wasn't due until the 20th of this month (October!!).

Meeting Down Syndrome Families

I have been overwhelmed (a good kind of overwhelmed) by the response I have gotten from families who have a child with Down syndrome. I have gotten connected through Parent to Parent, DS Association of Wisconsin and the Arc of Appleton. The Arc has a wonderful group called the DS Family Network. They meet as a playgroup every week. I have also had families wanting to meet us and we have since gotten together with three different families individually. I also plan to hopefully go to a Down to Earth meeting in Oshkosh soon.
