Logan's Birthday Party

I finally had a moment just now to look through the pictures I have taken over the last couple of months and I realize how many times I should have blogged some of them.
I even forgot to blog Logan's birthday party! Logan loves tractors and getting rides of them from his Grandpas. He even put his first two words together, "papa tractor"!! So naturally, we had a tractor birthday for him.

We had a beautiful day and the kids spent most of it outside!

Logan loves bounce houses! He got a brand new one for his birthday!

He stuck his hand in his cake right away! Oops!

Logan also got a silly quacking duck!
Logan reading a new tractor book. You can see his lips making the sounds for "tractor"!

This tractor gift shakes and sings the chicken dance!!

The Birthday Party

The day went way too fast! Thank you to all of our family and friends for spending Logan's special day with us! Logan is so lucky to have all of you in his life. He is so loved.

I took the kids to Burger King on Logan's birthday (last Wed) to play and have lunch. Logan got this crown and he actually loves wearing it, so he wore it all day at his party! He was king for the day!
Logan's party theme was cars because they are one of his favorite things to play with. He likes to make car sounds and even pretends that some foods are cars when he is eating....it's so cute.
My brother made these cute cars for the wall to match his cake...he is so creative!Logan, enjoying his cake! (oh, and yes, he can drink out of juice boxes now!)The day was so busy that we didn't even get a chance to open his gifts until late on Saturday...so if you left before we got to it, here is what he got. Thank you!!! He enjoyed playing with all of these toys today and even wore some of the clothes today as well. Like I said before...he is such a lucky little boy!

Logan Milestones and Birthday Update

Big news...Logan can squat down, pick up a toy, then stand back up!! This may seem minor to some, but this is HUGE for us. This means his strength is slowly building in his legs. He also can stand for longer periods of time and even play with toys and raise his arms without holding on to anything. Also, tonight he said "eyes" and he was able to identify my eyes, nose and ears. And there is more!...Dad is most proud of this one, he is signing "Dad". I am SO proud of him!! Oh, and one more thing, he is starting to follow simple one-step directions. Oh....I just thought of something else...I just should have made a list....I found him trying to put on clothes today! It was SO funny! He went into Devin's closet, emptied Devin's underwear bin and when I found him he had three pairs of underwear on up to his thigh...just on one leg, but how amazing is that!! When I found him he was in the process of trying to put socks on as well! He is such a smarty pants!! He knows SO much more than I give him credit for and I feel bad about that. I guess his quiet, observer personality makes me forget that the wheels in his head are still turning and he is absorbing SO much all day!
We have decided on a car them for Logan's party....not Cars the movie, just cars, all kinds...because that is one thing I know he likes. I am looking for any creative ideas for the party! Cake ideas, games, activities...cars, cars and more cars. So far, I have cars for the sandbox, candy cars, car bubbles, toy cars with road rug to play on. I need a car cake idea...
I am SO excited for the party now, but so much work to be done!

Happy Birthday Devin!!

Devin is 4 today! We celebrated his birthday Sunday at an indoor water park. (86 degrees was nice since it was -2 outside!) He had a blast with his cousins, godmother, uncle and Grandma. Also, Logan's godparents and their son came to celebrate their son's 2nd birthday. Devin said it was the perfect party! He is a BIG fan of water slides. He has no fear! I thought that we would never get him out of there, but he eventually got worn out enough that he was fine with leaving. Guess who did not want to leave?...LOGAN! When he cried all the way through lunch, I couldn't figure out what was wrong. He loves pizza, but he wasn't interested. We also thought he was getting tired, but as soon as he was back in the water, he was fine and all full of smiles again. I never saw so much smiling and clapping out of him and he also signed "more" constantly. He cried and signed more every time we took him out of the water. I think we will be making another trip there soon. Maybe we should move therapy there too, because he loves to walk around in the water (being held by his hands) and he stood up a lot in the water. I will see what his therapists think :) It was great to see him so motivated by the water. He is usually so easygoing and mellow that we don't know what he wants.

Here is the day in pictures:
Logan and his godfather, Rob.
Logan's expression here says it all!Logan's friend, Aaron, happened to be their with his family. It was fun to run into them and Logan got to play in the water with Aaron!

A day late, but she's here!

I guess you can never expect things to go as planned.

Aubrey Margaret was born Thursday, October 9th at 12:23 pm.
She weighed 7lbs 5oz and was 20 inches long.

We went in Wednesday morning to be induced, but at 6pm I was still only 2-3 centimeters so they turned off the pitocin and we were told we would start over Thursday morning. So, after a full day of contractions every 2-4 minutes, we had to try to get a good nights sleep at the hospital to start all over the next day. At 6am they started the pitocin again, but this time my doctor broke my water at 7am and things moved along fairly quickly. So, after a long day and some disappointment, she finally decided to have her birthday a day late.
